The first Puppy Training

Now that I had rested the first night at my new home nobody could think about sleep the next morning. I literally went over chairs and tables. Mistress decided to take me to my first puppy training that very day. She had planed to take me the next Saturday to give me time to adjust at home and then take me to puppy-training. But since I felt at home after a couple of hours (a couple of minutes really) we went to puppy training.

Mistress used to drive a Suzuki SJ410 then and I had enough space behind the laid down backseat and could not climb over. This second car ride to I mastered with no problems.

My high spirits left instantly when Mistress put me down amongst 10 other puppies. I looked for a spot to become invisible. Luckily I recognized Mistresses legs and sat down besides them. Near the end of class I snapped out of it and raced the others as if bitten by a Tarantula. I raced them in the ground (Oh well they had already given nearly everything ...).

We went home but there was no thought for sleep. I zoomed through the house like mad and Lucky got himself to safety. Desperately I licked my paws and resumed zooming. Mistress caught me and inspected my paws. I had burned my partly rose colored paws in nettles (at the puppy training). I had not encountered that stuff before.

Mistress let warm water into the sink and added Kamillosan. My first paw bath was ready. What a relieve ... After that I could go to sleep.

The following puppy training sessions were really fun. Mostly I ran around with the others. In-between we did little exercises. I did not like wrestling games. I love to run of the others paws. Since I was really fast even then I usually made someone chase me and was happy when they gave up. As soon as that happened I challenged the next one. That was and still is my favorite game.

Sometimes when everybody was tired and nobody wanted to chase me I zoomed around on my own. The best thing was to throw myself in to the ball box full throttle. When I got a little older, 14 weeks I believe, I managed to jump over the box at full speed. The box is 35,5" wide ... In those moment Mistresses heart nearly gave out ...

Here I really want to thank the two teachers of the puppy training. It was never dry or boring.
They always came up with new games
(like going over crackling foil) to make us puppies fit for live.
Additionally I learned something very important there or better I never forgot it:
Social competence and how to behave around other dogs ...
